Coex has been confirmed as the host venue of the upcoming 26th Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Resipirology (APSR) in 2021. Coex won the hosting rights after a successful bid from a joint committee led by the Korean Academy of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases (KATRD) at the 23rd APSR in Taipei which was held from November 29 – Dec 2 of this year.
The successful bid was the culmination of months of preparation, with full support from the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and the Seoul Tourism Organization (STO), and was up against bids from committees in China and Singapore.
Speaking after the announcement, a member of the KATRD shared, “We could not have achieved our success without the unity and support of the committee and our KATRD members. We ask for your continued support for the upcoming APSR 2021.”
The Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology is considered one of the most prestigious congresses in the Asia-Pacific region and Seoul’s confirmation to host the upcoming congress in 2021 will mark the second time the city has hosted the international congress after previously hosting the event in 2009. The upcoming 2021 Seoul Congress is expected to draw some 3,000 medical, and related, professionals.
