"We Bring People Together": Coex's sustainable, charity-themed booth at Korea Exhibition Expo
Coex has premiered a new sustainable, charity-themed promotional booth at Korea Exhibition Expo 2011, the nation's premier events industry gathering. Coex's booth was built with the center's signature shell-scheme booth base, and the design was themed around holidays and sharing under the center's slogan, "We Bring People Together".
Coex exhibited together with parent company Korea International Trade Association and partners Sheraton Walkerhill Catering and the City of Gangnam. Set up at the front of Coex's booth was a donation collection box for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), a non-profit organization which has held many conferences at Coex in the past. In the same spirit of giving, Walkerhill also donated 700 cups of coffee to the exhibition organizers and attendees.
Sustainability is never far from the minds of Coex designers and employees, so the Exhibition Expo booth was used as a chance to promote eco-friendly shell-scheme design. Both the booth skeleton and wall paneling were made with shell-scheme booth parts, which can be disassembled and reused from event to event. To encourage sustainable practices nationwide, Coex promotes the use of shell-scheme booths at internally owned exhibitions as well as to hosted guest exhibition organizers. Financial incentives are available for events that make use of shell-scheme designs.
A total of 1,500 attendees visited the Korea Exhibition Expo this year. Coex collected 200,000KRW in holiday donations for UNICEF.
