Coffee Expo Hosts Gangnam`s Trendiest Coffee Companies
Coffee Expo Seoul held its biggest show ever this year at Coex, with a record-breaking number of exhibitors and 45,000 visitors coming to the show between April 14th and 17th. More than (number) of countries represented all facets of the coffee industry, including national pavilions of Brazil and Indonesia. Among the international representatives were businesses from Korea’s trendiest neighborhood, Gangnam.
With Seoul now housing more coffee shops per capita than any other city in the world, it’s no surprise that the trendy Gangnam neighborhood has given rise to a number of popular new coffee businesses.
Coffee Dictionary
Coffee Dictionary is more than just an online store, it’s a community. Han Gyu Bae, the company’s founder, has built an online forum around his e-commerce store that sells equipment for coffee aficionados.
Coffee Dictionary’s community is open to all coffee lovers and commenting, or adding content to the site, allows users to accumulate mileage that can be exchanged for real money to buy specialty coffees and equipment from the online store.
“Right now we’re focused on building up our offline presence to grow our community” said Han.
We have about 2000 members so far and we hope that events like Coffee Expo will help us continue to grow.”

With the expansion of Seoul’s café market, so to have the offerings at coffee shops around the city. Stop by any of the trendier shops in Seoul and you’re likely to find BK Co. LTD’s products, a selection of imported beers and alcoholic beverages.
This year the company is tapping into a new market with the addition of Somersby, an alcoholic fruit beverage to their line of products.
“Somersby is the top sales product for apple cider in the Korean market right now,” said Sun Yeong Yoon, a representative of the company. “We know the potential is there and believe that Coffee Expo Seoul is a great way to reach restaurant and café owners.”
TF International:
No café in is complete without an assortment of cakes and desserts to choose from. TF International fills that need by importing the raw ingredients for desserts including pudding, gelato, bing-su (ice flakes with syrup), directly from Taiwan. The company is responsible for importing the products of famous cafes all over Korea, including the likes of 호미빙 (Ho-Me-Bing).
This year TF International will open a new brand as well as make plans to expand into United States.
“We have participated at Coffee Expo Seoul three times now,” said Kyung Moo Kang, a representative of the company. “We always see good results and the word of mouth marketing we get from the expo increases our brand awareness. We hope 2016 results will have the same positive impact.”
