Coex signs MOU with Hargrove events contractor

Coex Co., Ltd. in Seoul, Korea signs MOU with White House Event Contractor Hargrove Following Successful G20 Seoul Summit

South Korea’s top events center and organizer Coex Co., Ltd. and American events contractor Hargrove, Inc., have signed an MOU agreeing to explore joint services provision in Asia. Hargrove is a general services contractor for high-level government events, and provided Coex’s event planners with technical consultation services during last year’s G20 Seoul Summit.

Coex Co., Ltd., Korea’s top meetings venue and organizer, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hargrove, Inc., one of the USA’s biggest events contractors. Hargrove is best known for organizing high-security summits for the White House and other government bodies. The two companies worked together previously during the G20 Seoul Summit in 2010.

The content of the MOU states that Coex and Hargrove will cooperate on providing events services for future high-level international summits. Services specified in the MOU include space design, environmental layout, technical design, audiovisual execution, and other physical aspects of summit meetings.

The two companies may also seek further cooperation in other areas, including exhibition product development, travel to expand joint business opportunities, and possibly forming a general services contractor structure for the Asian region.

In 2010, Coex contracted Hargrove Inc. as a consultant for the G20 Seoul Summit. Hargrove was the general services contractor for the 2009 Pittsburgh G20 Summit and 2010 Nuclear Security Council, and was able to provide Coex with insight and recommendations on high-level summits.

The leaders of the world’s 20 most economically powerful countries, 13 other world leaders, and 15,000 delegates, press, and security all attended the high-profile G20 Seoul Summit at Coex Convention and Exhibition Center. The summit was heralded as a stunning success by multiple meetings-industry groups.

Coex and Hargrove have signed the MOU in consideration of future world summits that will be held in Korea and elsewhere in Asia.
