A delegation from eight Association of South East Nation countries paid visit to Coex yesterday, Thursday November 8, to learn about Korea’s leading exhibition and convention center and to experience the ASEAN pavilion currently being showcased at this year’s Food Week.
The sixteen guests, who represented tourism ministry directors and officers from countries such as Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam and the Philippines, were invited to Coex as part of a two-month educational stay in Korea organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture. The guests were given a presentation and site tour hosted by Coex and the Korean Tourism Authority, and enjoyed tasting both new and familiar foods at the ASEAN pavilion.
The ASEAN Food Pavilion, in the International Food Hall of Korea Food Week, is a platform through which businesses from the ten ASEAN member countries may display their products within Korea’s leading Food related tradeshow, and promote trade between Korea and South East Asia. The ASEAN pavilion includes a total of thirty companies in the fields of coffee, tea, frozen and packaged foods, health and fruit related products. Korea Food Week 2012 also includes an ASEAN kitchen, where guests to Food Week may learn how to make dishes from these countries themselves.
Other aspects of Korea Food Week this week have included the Makkeolli Expo, Live Cooking Shows, Korean Food Hall and MBC charity event, Food Bank.
