C-Festival 2018, the largest annual urban culture festival in Korea, has won a multimedia award at the 2018 Pinnacle Awards. Hosted annually by the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA), the Pinnacle Awards recognizes outstanding festivals and events from around the world with quality creative, promotional, operational, and community outreach programs.
C-Festival won in the Multimedia Awards category, with the festival’s homepage, social networking service channels, and posted contents recognized for their quality and effectiveness in promoting this year’s event. C-Festival previously won a Pinnacle Award in 2017 in the Best TV category making this year’s award the second in a row the festival has received.
This year’s C-Festival was the festival’s fourth edition and was held over five days at the Coex Convention & Exhibition Center. This year’s event featured exhibitions, performances, lectures, and experience programs in seven different categories and was open to the general public. The event was attended by 1.55 million visitors this year and estimated to have generated an economic impact of 143 billion Korean won (approximately 126.5 million USD) in products generation and 1.39 billion Korean won (1.22 million USD) in tax revenues. The festival is organized every year by Coex and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA).
On receiving this award, Coex president Dong Won Lee commented, “The successful hosting of C-Festival 2018 helped elevate Coex and the Korea Trade Center as a center of the MICE industry. We will continue to work in hosting events that help create jobs and generate positive economic growth.”
