Coex and Reed Exhibitions finalize deal to co-organize Franchise Seoul
Coex, Korea’s leading event organizer, has announced that it has finalized a joint-venture deal to co-organize Franchise Seoul with Reed Exhibitions, the world’s leading exhibition organizer.
The deal will see the two well-established exhibition management companies co-organize Franchise Seoul, the largest exhibition for entrepreneurs, start-ups, global brands, and business franchisors and franchisees in Korea. The 2016 event will be held from March 3rd-5th at Coex.
Franchise Seoul is one of Coex’s legacy exhibitions, first held in 1996, in which the food and beverage sector takes up more than 70% of the overall space. Over 10,000 retail distributors, investors, consultants, manufacturers, distributors, department stores, shopping centers, education and health care professionals, importers, exporters and representatives of trading companies were recorded for the 2015 show.
With Asia increasingly becoming one of the world’s economic powerhouses, South Korea, the gateway to Asia and one of the continent’s strongest economies, attracts businesses from across the world looking for potential franchise owners and investors to help grow their brands. The Asian franchise market is projected to sustain an upward growth trend for the next few years and Franchise Seoul, which has grown steadily at 8% since 2012, will provide essential networking and business opportunities to support the expansion drives of exhibiting companies.
“We’re excited to collaborate with Reed on Franchise Seoul this year. We believe that Seoul is the right place and this event is the right vehicle to help exhibitors to showcase their franchise, license, brand and business concepts and visitors to find their best business matches,” said Bo Kyung Byun, CEO & President of Coex. “Through our partnership with Reed, we believe we are better placed than ever before to deliver excellent value for our customers.”
Commenting on the deal, Paul Beh, President of Asia Pacific for Reed Exhibitions said: “We are excited about the potential to further grow Franchise Seoul in partnership with Coex. This strategic deal brings the show into Reed’s growing global portfolio of franchise events. “The collaboration makes excellent sense and will empower both Reed and Coex to give more value to our global customers to further promote their products in one of Asia’s most important markets, while adding significant value to Franchise Seoul exhibitors, who will further benefit from Reed’s global network.”
