Interbattery, Korea’s leading exhibition for batteries, made its debut in Europe in collaboration with ees Europe as part of The Smarter E Europe held from June 14 to 16, 2023 at Messe Münchenin in Munich. Over 70 Korean and international battery companies, including LG Energy Solution Ltd. and Samsung SDI Co., participated in the inaugural event to showcase Korea’s leading battery-related technologies at Europe’s largest energy industry event.
Organized by Coex, the Korea Battery Industry Association, and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Interbattery Korea has established itself as the leading exhibition for batteries in Asia with over 300 companies and 50,000 buyers from around the world participating annually.
The ees Europe, Europe’s largest exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems, was held as part of The Smarter E Europe. Held in collaboration with Interbattery Europe, ees Europe 2023 had over 900 exhibitors and attracted over 106,000 visitors from over 166 countries. Battery Day Europe was also held during the event where battery industry professionals discussed the latest technologies and forecasts of the global battery industry and analyzed market policies between Europe and Asia.
CEO of Coex Dong-Ki Lee said, “it took Interbattery Korea 10 years to establish itself as the leading exhibition for batteries in Asia, and added, “we will continue to work toward becoming a global platform for the battery industry centered around Korean companies, which have become key players in the international battery industry.”
Following the successful conclusion of this year’s event and growing international interest in the European battery market and Korean companies, Interbattery Europe will return to Munich in June 2024 with an even greater number and diversity of companies.
