On February 14, 2024, Coex invited meetings industry professionals in Korea to the Open House event for its newest sustainable exhibition space, The Platz. Located on the second floor of Coex, the new event space features an industrial concept with a bright and open exhibition area of 2,224 sqm, a dedicated lobby and reception area of 646 sqm, and private meetings and conference rooms. Easy access to event halls on the first floor and conference rooms on the third floor makes The Platz the ideal space for smaller exhibitions, concurrent events, art shows, pop-up events, and VIP events.
The Platz’s sleek industrial design combines exposed ceilings, brick interiors, and steel-finished columns to create a unique and captivating atmosphere. Bright and open, the space maximizes natural light with its expansive windows spanning over 30 meters to the southwest. By seamlessly integrating natural light into its architectural design, Coex ensures that every event hosted at The Platz creates a lasting impression for all attendees.
With sustainability at the forefront, all events at The Platz utilize Coex’s signature eco-friendly meetings products and solutions – branded as ‘good plan.’ Booths are constructed with VOMO Smart, a fully reusable modular exhibition wall system made of 100% recycled waste paper that allows for quick and easy setup. Standalone lightbox systems, which can be combined in any shape and length, illuminates booth displays and walls to help put out messages in the right light. Coex’s AVDrop modular system makes it possible to quickly and easily set-up impressive, yet sustainable stage backdrops of up to 72 meters in length.
Regarding Coex’s newest sustainable venue, Coex CEO Dong-ki Lee stated that “we created The Platz to meet to ever-increasing demands for event spaces at Coex,” and “the new event space will provide even more opportunities for smaller, newer industries to host events by reducing the barriers for entry.”
