“Green Management as a long term strategy”: Environmental efforts of Coex, highlighted by Nordic Innovation
Out of 28 MICE businesses of OECD countries, South Korea’s convention & exhibition center, Coex, was selected as the most outstanding MICE Company for practicing green management. On May 21st, Coex presented the company’s environmental activities and achievements at Nordic Innovation and OECD’s Green Business Model Innovation in the Tourism and Experience Economy Conference. The result is published in the Nordic Innovation’s website.
The institution introduces Coex as Korea’s main exhibition & convention center, and a company deeply engaged in both social and environmental issues. Out of all the green management strategies implemented by Coex, three key approaches were highlighted in their report: Real time monitoring of energy consumption, strong sustainable management, and encouragement of sustainable lifestyle.
A member from Coex’ Sustainable Management Team has noted that this position would bring them to take on a leading role in integrating sustainability in the Korean business environment. Coex believes that, initiating green management practices and staying innovative in their industry would motivate the rest would to follow their example. Also, it would bring them great investment potentials in the future.
