Last month Coex’s studio159 opened to the public, kicking off with a multi-day Open House event. The 294sqm professional studio is fully equipped to handle broadcasting of all types, but is also served by Coex’s full suite of events support, making it a useful space to hold hybrid events or a unique venue for face-to-face meetings. The new addition of studio159 offers meeting planners exciting new choices and flexibility in the planning of their future events at Coex.
Filled with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology and facilities, studio159 is designed to support professional-level live broadcast and hybrid events. The key feature of the space is a 500 inch curved LED screen that spans 12 meters wide and 3.7 meters high. The impressive screen makes for immersive video presentations and can also serve as a beautiful background for both live and hybrid events.
The space is fully outfitted with audiovisual equipment ideal for broadcast, film production, hybrid events, or other meetings. Live switchers, live streaming equipment, 55 inch teleprompters, and three 4K resolution cameras make it possible to take any event live at a moment’s notice. The 86 LED studio lights that hang from the ceiling, colorful lights spilling across the walls, and deep surround sound system not only add to the production value, but also make the entire space a sleek, upbeat option for receptions and other events as well.
Event planners can work with the space and equipment provided and also receive the support of Coex’s event specialists to fully staff and serve the venue. The center offers its Coex LIVE services, which gives planners access to cutting-edge live stream and broadcast equipment, as well as experienced technicians to run and operate the equipment. For those in need of set design, Coex offers a sustainable modular backdrop system AV drop, and the interior can also be furnished with Coex’s Premium Furniture inventory.
“The opening of studio159 is just one of our many efforts in realizing the future needs of the meetings industry today,” stated Steven Kim, Executive Director of the Venue & Global Business Division. “The space is designed to give meeting planners plenty of flexibility in execution, as the venue can easily be adjusted for an event to be face-to-face, hybrid, or broadcast globally.”
studio159 is located on the 2nd floor of the sunny east wing of Coex, with convenient, dedicated escalator access right by the large East Gate. Studio rental includes usage of two adjoining VIP rooms – the Green Room and the Boardroom. Adjacent to its entrance is an airy reception area with commanding views of buildings along the bustling Yeongdong-daero Road outside.
