Seoul PopCon 2025 just concluded at Coex, and what an event it was! Three whole days filled with indie games, cosplay contests, comic books, fansigns, artist booths, and over 40,000 visitors. Simply put, for all fans of popular culture, this year’s PopCon was the place to be.
With 150 participating companies and 300 booths, the event was divided into three main sectors: Game Con, Comic Con, and Live Con. Most importantly, at the back of the conference hall, the main stage brought the event to life with talk shows, concerts, and an unforgettable cosplay contest.
This year’s PopCon was the perfect place for all game lovers to rediscover their favorites, with household names like EA Sports and Bandai Namco participating and offering the chance to try out some of their famous titles, such as TEKKEN and Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival, complete with its iconic drum controller. It was also a place to discover upcoming indie games, each unique and presented with passion and a clear attention to detail.
However, there was no lack of fun and content for lovers of movies, anime, and webtoons either. The event hosted fan signing events for famous voice actors—think Culinary Class Wars and the undisputed movie sensation of the summer, Kpop Demon Hunters!—webtoon creators and writers, and even English actor Ben Hardy, starring in the newly released The Conjuring: Last Rites, was in attendance.
Cosplay-loving fans also had the time of their lives with a Cosplay Parade and the Ultimate Cosplay Battle. The parade ran through the Coex Starfield mall and followed a very specific theme: Heroes vs. Villains. For the Cosplay Battle, the participants were divided into three categories based on their costumes of choice: needlework, FX, and armor. All of the participating cosplayers brought a lively, fun, and colorful atmosphere to the convention, making it one of the most memorable highlights of the event.
