From December 4-6, Coex once again organized and hosted the annual Seoul International Sourcing Fair in Hall C. First held in 1991, the event is the only exhibition in Korea for consumer goods manufacturing and distribution. This year, the event featured over 400 booths from 350 participating companies specializing in different products, such as kitchenware and cleaning supplies, but also in beauty, skincare, body care, and much more.
This year, sustainability was one of the event’s top priorities for Coex. The event made use of Coex’s vast arsenal of eco-friendly event solutions, branded ‘good plan,’ such as recyclable wood panels and the AV-Drop system. AV-Drop is a 100% reusable modular backdrop system that allows you to create a stage backdrop for just a fraction of the time and cost of a standard display made from wood. It is estimated tha tthe annual impact of using the AV-Drop system is equivalent to the annual offset of carbon emissions generated by 4,000 fully grown trees. Additionally, all of the participating companies at the event were Green exhibitors, fully dedicated to sustainable ESG practices and proudly showcasing products with eco-friendly or fully vegan packaging and formulas.
The exhibit also offered business matching and e-sourcing programs to support overseas exports, online and offline store extensions, and distribution. The process consisted of 30-minute 1:1 consultations with pre-matched buyers to promote the best-suited partnerships between new entrepreneurs and buyers looking to source rare and innovative products.
With all the product variety, growth opportunities, and different seminars running throughout the entire event, the Sourcing Fair proved to be a great success yet another time and continues to expand into a globally renowned phenomenon, now holding branch exhibitions in Vietnam and Indonesia as well.
